Cake Clippies and Other Structured Clip Experiments

I wanted to make a friend of mine a set of cake clippies for her twin daughters.  They'll be two soon and I have been making bows for them since they were born.  The original idea was from this pin.  I did a little experimenting and came up with this:

I was feeling pretty confident, so I looked up a tutorial for some strawberry clips.  The one I used is here.  The strawberries also turned out well.

Then all of my confidence got the better of me.  I tried a watermelon.  This is the tutorial.  Mine didn't turn out as nice as I would have liked.  I am going to try it again another day.

My finale was a Cinderella clip.  I may never try a princess clip again.  It was *that* time consuming and fussy.  However, now that it's done, I love it and will probably try another.

The top of her dress looks a little crazy, so I will probably fuss with it a little, but overall it turned out pretty good.  The tutorial is here if you are interested.

Tomorrow is a day of loopy bows.  I'm trying to take a break from bottle cap bows and really have fun with the ribbon and buttons.  We'll see what tomorrow brings!

***UPDATE:  Cinderella with her dress fixed up!  Much better.  :0)
